About Us

The Nairobi Legal Awards made a sparkling debut in 2017 celebrating excellence in the Legal Profession. Since inception, the Awards Programme continues to grow in the number of entries and attendees.

Our prestigious Legal Awards celebrate the most successful, innovative and forward-thinking lawyers and legal departments across Nairobi and Kiambu Counties.

The Trustees of the NLA Trust are

The LSK- Nairobi Branch set up a Trust in 2020. The Trust is responsible for organizing the Awards. It also ensures the strict adherence to impartiality and integrity in assessments and the Jury process.

The Jury

The Jury is an independent body of the Trust principally tasked to conduct review of all data received from nominees and determine the awardees in the various categories of the Nairobi Legal Awards. The Jury is a team of competent legal professionals representing diverse areas of practice and include the following;

Technical Committee

The Technical Committee was set up to primarily deal with preliminary coordination of the Trust activities and to provide technical assistance in the Awards programme. This includes planning the Awards Gala ceremony and other Trust Programmes. The Technical Committee is chaired by Ndinda Kinyili.

College of Assessors

The College is tasked with conducting assessments and grading the nominees. This includes physical visits to individuals, law firms and legal departments and conduct interviews in order to confirm the veracity of the information provided by the nominees.
The College is headed by the Chief Assessor, Dr. Praxedes Tororey in coordination with the Principal Assessor, Mr. Julius Kitheka.
Appointment to the College is done on an annual basis. We encourage competent lawyers who are interested in joining the College to submit their application to our email (info@nairobilegalawards.com) for consideration.

The Secretariat

The Trust is supported by a vibrant Secretariat team tasked with providing clerical assistance to the Trust and its organs.
The Secretariat oversees the daily administration of the Trust.
Led by the Programmes Officer, the Secretariat comprises members of the LSK- Nairobi Branch who are seconded to the Trust.
